Write the title of your book, plus the minutes that your read today. Today we will be working with personification. After looking at some of your author's examples of figurative of speech. I would like for you to write a poem using personification.  Personification is when you give "things" human like qualities. \  Instructions are in the handout posted. * Do not state what the object is like the title states, instead leave it for us to guess on Friday* Remember the words that you can describe are in the handout.  Only use one for your poem It would not be fair if I did not write a poem myself, here is my example. I get crumbled and cracked when the warm sun rises. I feel the wind blowing in my cheek. I fall, fall, fall, gently to floor. Hoping that I do not break any of my chlorophyll bones. What am I?

Write the title of your book, plus the minutes you read today. As you may have noticed, this week we will be working on how authors use different figurative of speech to make their book more interesting for the reader. Author's also appeal to the reader's senses.  Have you ever read a book, where you can clearly imagine the cake sitting on the table.  Author's do that on purpose, so you can sink in to the story. Today, I would like for you to pay close attention to how your author writes the story and what senses are being triggered while reading the book. Quote 3 examples, plus the page number where you found it.
