Magic Tree House #7 Sunset of the Sabertooth (2hrs) I think this book is a Fiction and a Non-Fiction because there is no such thing as a magic tree house that can make people travel back in time. I think it is Non-fiction because Cro-Magnons were Europe people that painted animals that they killed. It is a chapter book, and yes, it is a long chapter book, and I insist you read this book, and read the rest of Magic Tree House books, and there is a Magic Tree House website you can play.
The book i'm reading (Tell them who I am) is a nonfiction story because the definition of nonfiction from the dictionary reads "prose writing that is based on facts, real events, and real people, such as biography or history". in other words nonfiction is something that is true not a fantasy like Harry Potter were there is magic and wizards. That's called fiction. My book is also a chapter book with a whopping 328 pages and 12 chapters. I like this book because it helps me know how it feels to be in other people's shoes. Also seeing the world not so happy and great and that its not so amazing as we thought it was. Its making me have more empathy for people who dont have the things we do such as baths ,running water and food. I would also like if everyone in this summer reading program would challenge themselves to donate money, used cloths, and house hold goods to any shelters. One I've looked into is the San Diego homeless shelters (were you could donate -https://www.sdrescue.org/donate). Anything helps. I recommend this book to anyone who is ready to see the world in a whole new perspective.
"better then perfect" by by Melissa Kantor.(1 hr) I think the book better than perfect is a non-fiction book because many kids//teens can go through parents splitting up or fatalities to either teens or adults. These things can happen to anyone it doesn't matter who they are and sometimes there are no ways to help because you never know when things like this can happen. Then sometimes your own family will be really concerned for you mental and physical health and under these circumstances that they may want you moving with them or another relative.
1 hour "The Giver" by Lois Lowry is a Fiction book that is based on what life would be like if you were perfect and perfectly organized. People could not really see color except the receiver of memories. People are split into groups of age. The groups are 1 through 12. Each year at the ceremony the year promotion includes something new every time. This book helps me get a better understanding of perspectives and how life would be like with very strict rules and places. The book is long and the words are small. The Giver has Twenty three chapters. I really like this book because it helps me get a better understanding of perspectives and how life would be like with very strict rules and no color or fun. It also taught me that usually " when people have an option to chose, They chose wrong" which is stood out to me a lot because Sometimes in the real world People might chose wrong and the consequences could vary depending on the person and the options. I would recommend this book to anyone who is really serious about perspectives on how life could have been with one ruler and A family unit with people who aren't even your family, or how you would have to follow rules if you don't want to get " Released", Or how you would see yourself in a colorless world without options and freedom.
Write the title of your book, plus the minutes you read today? ex. Junie B. Jones, 45 minutes Pretend to write a letter to the author of the book you are reading? What would you say? Is there something you did not like about the book? Would you suggest something to be done different in the story?
Hi everyone, So I have heard many of you guys would like to continue to post on our blog during the weekends. I am so excited to know that you guys are enjoying the time you are spending reading. For today, I would like for you try something new, take a challenge. I would like for you to read in a new place today, for example, maybe you always read in the couch in your living room, today, take your book and read outside, in your room, in the kitchen, and briefly explain your experience. Did you like reading in a new place? Why or why not?
Write the title of your book, plus the minutes you read today. As you may have noticed, this week we will be working on how authors use different figurative of speech to make their book more interesting for the reader. Author's also appeal to the reader's senses. Have you ever read a book, where you can clearly imagine the cake sitting on the table. Author's do that on purpose, so you can sink in to the story. Today, I would like for you to pay close attention to how your author writes the story and what senses are being triggered while reading the book. Quote 3 examples, plus the page number where you found it.
